I'm looking for a 1D MK IV to replace my forever playing up 7D2 but getting one with a low(ish) shutter count is proving difficult. Great shots guys.

Just be patient. They show up with good shutter counts. I've bought two with approx 60K clicks.

They do come up every now and again, I picked mine up (in Australia) with under 18000 on it.

Not the best shot in the world, but one of a Lyrebird nonetheless - they are very secretive and rarely out in the open - this one would not venture out in front of the foliage, but I was lucky to get some dappled sunlight on it.

Used the lower right hand most AF point and spot AF to focus on the eye and not the plants in front, shame I did not get the whole tail in but I was up against a tree and could go no further

Cleaned up pretty well for ISO 5000 - much as I'd love a 1DX or even a 1DXII, this will suffice me....for now

I've just bought one from Germany with less than 7K actuations on it, I'm well pleased.

Well done that man, surprised you could find such a lightly used one, bet you can't wait for hands on!

no. there's a rubber inner ring on the mount that is preventing it

i've read someone "shaved" the lens getting rid of that ring, but IMHO in theory the risk of the mirror hitting the lens is effective (maybe i'm wrong)

finally EFS lenses are designed for smaller sensor, so for example on 1D4 u should use the 10-22 only from 13mm, if i remember properly

anyway here on POTN there was some nice night sky shot, the user was not mentioning issues

more info on FLICKR (external link) and another tutorial (external link)

This is the information board that was there.
No prizes for the photo, purely for documentation purposes ;)

POTN member msowsun says: "The mirror is very strong and contacting the back of the lens has virtually no effect on it. I have done it hundreds of times."

From this thread where he tried 24STM on 5D3:
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1410220

Or this thread where he tried EF-S 10-18 STM on 5D3
https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=17035833

How about 55-250STM on 5D3:
https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=17755182

Obviously, as those EF-S lenses work on full frame 5D3 (after modification and with some vignetting or restricted range) they will be even better on 1D4.
