A couple from yesterday evening. The leopard was actually mating, couldn't get close enough to get them both and focus was a nightmare, but the noises were spectacular!

Poor Annie's going to think we're ganging up on her :) Not the case, just I'm a big believer in the "no such thing as a stupid question" and "no such thing as useless information". Most users I think are aware that the On/Off switch also "deactivates" the big black dial when in the #2 position. When in the #3 position the big black dial becomes active. Again, no offense intended Annie. :)

I only stumbled across this feature the other day, I must take time out and read the manual.

:oops::oops::oops:

But I did know about the two 'on' positions - it's the very basics that got me :lol:

I shot this last week. It was just a snap shot but I liked how it turned out. And there is so much more in the pic than my eyes picked up there: bugs on the flowers, a cloud of bugs in the background. I just think it's pretty.

LOL. It's always the simple stuff that one tends to overlook, Annie! Have you ever visited the Classic Blunders of the Camera Kind thread? It's a sticky in The Lounge. Start with the top one: The Godfather Of Blunders. It will make you feel better right away! :lol:

By the way, aren't the two 'on' positions on all Canon DSLR's? It's on my old 40D, on the 5Dc and on all the 1D bodies* I've owned.

Thanks very much, Annie.

EDIT: *Come to think of it, not sure about the 1DIIN actually...

You're too kind, Levina! If you only knew how long I spent trying to figure it out!!! Both 6D and 5D3 just have On/Off switches.

Is there any way to find out my camera's year of manufacture other than going through Canon? I did ask them but they refused point blank to assist, stating that they do not supply confidential information!! I told them I can prove ownership but they wont budge.
