Congrats on the 1D MK IV! Love the high ISO shots. Can we see some samples past 12800? Just curious. :)

I'll post some a little later.

Honestly, ISO 12800 is as far as I would comfortably push the 1D4. Past that, you're going to need NR. Even ISO 12800 can be iffy. Anything south of 12800 and it looks pretty darn good from what I can tell, and that's impressive. I doubt I'll ever need anything above 12800. Hell, 6400 is all I ever really need... and this thing looks like ISO 800 at 6400.

I just got the 7D, don't give me any more envy about the mark IV than I already have! I really need to stop looking at this thread...

I agree. When I had my MK III, I barely shot at 3200 unless I needed it. Most sports photogs and pjs will most likely use those ISOs. Anyways, enjoy the new toy! :)

DAMN!!!! Those samples are just destroying my 1DIII x_x!

Welp my Camera needs to go back into Canon (3rd time) for yet more AF related probs, sharpness problems, the focus screen clip they chipped and failed the replace this second time and now a mysterious problem that makes the camera freeze randomly while taking a longer exposure and not record the image to the card.

I can only hope that they will offer me a 1DIV through their upgrade service because I would jump at spending 1-2k to go to this cam!

The 1D4 images.
The 5D2 looks pretty good, but as I've noted before it tends to under expose a bit, probably 1/2 stop. ISO wise the 5D2 holds its own against the 1D4. I would say the 1D4 looks a little better, but not much.

That's it, the 1DIV will replace my 5D sometime this year (or should I say, the 1DIV will replace my 5DII and my 5DII will replace my 5D and my 5D will be sold?!). ;)

Thanks man. Loved the video. Especially the part where you dusted off the white shelf ready for the beautiful thing to be opened.

NOW! We need the following shots:
1. Duck
2. AA batteries in a row
3. Lens box
4. Test chart
5. Brick wall

This the problem with getting a camera or something first. You're sort obliged to do a video or something.
