Congrats Marek! :)

Thx J!!! my first 1series canon DSLR ^_^

ok, I do have some questions for 1D MK IV users though.
So I bought 1D3 ... returned it immediately. I was not satisfied with AF, ISO and mostly that 10mpx sensor. Coming from a 5D2 users ... loosing half of your MPX is ... depressing ^_^

1D4 is muuuuch better in that regard expect for AF. Same thing as with 1D3. I CAN NOT get a sharp picture with 1D3 or 1D4. my 5d2 nails it every single time and is super sharp at 100% crops. Now ... I noticed that when I use live view on 1D4 and focus manually ... I get good results but when I take the same shot with center AF point ... I get soft images. So what am I doing wrong??? So far the AF in my 5d2 is far more accurate. I took 300 snaps yesterday and ... none were ... satisfactory at f/2.8 with 24-70. it is the same softness that I noticed in 1D3 so it must be the user error or maybe I'm demanding too much from that APS-H 16pmx sensor. plz HELP ^_^

Believe me, it is worth 3 penny.

Have you gone thru the steps to see if you need to MA this lens to the body ?

Marek, I had exactly the same experience. I took mine to a very good Canon service shop together with all my glass, had it tuned to MY lenses. Now it works perfectly :)
Also, the MA would drive you crazy with the zoom lenses

If you try to use MA on any lens make sure you read all the info from Canon (especially the limitations). The Canon tech explained it to me and MA just won't do the trick for zoom lenses.
I still hear people say that it works fine for them... well, it's their call.

I need to have my equipment to work as it is supposed to - every time :)

By the sounds of it we're at the end of the line for the APS-H sensor with the new 1D X coming out.

While I'm here I'll fire off a question.

Have had the MKiv for a while now and love it, but am missing the C1,C2, C3 buttons from the 7D. I enjoyed have a various shot settings in there & flicking between them instantly. Like for birding, having a bunch of settings for static shots, then flick to a second set for flight shots. I see you can have a second exposure setting registered to the AE lock button,(that's not really what I want) and can have multiple cfn setting registered & change via the menu.(that's not really what I want either) But is there anything I'm overlooking to use as a work around to be similar to the custom functions of other models ?

You can save all settings to a file, up to 10, and relaod them at any time. Just put the load/save settings menu item into your MyMenu.

I would try to MA your lenses and if using zooms, just MA at the most-used focal length. If you peruse the shots in this thread, you'll see that this body is typically spot-on. I know mine is.
