-=1D Mark IV Owners Thread! (it's time)

Does anybody know of a third-party alternative for the LC-E4 charger?

I usually carry two chargers with me on big photo trips but I'm reluctant to shell out £300+ for a Canon one, especially as it's only for back-up. Something smaller than the original would also be good.

I agree. It's not even as if it can charge both at the same time: it does one after the other!

Canon CPS is sending me a Mk IV to use in 2 weeks I can't wait to get this baby in my hands and see what she can do!!

For £16.99 incl. shipping I'll give it a shot. I'll probably need to get an aftermarket battery to go with it (because the Canon ones are probably chipped) but I'm only looking for something to throw in my check-in in case the original gets damaged.

Checking in here as I received a new 1D MK IV this week. I have upgraded from the 1D MK II so I am looking forward to the new features the MK IV has to offer. The goal for this weekend is to work on CF setups and snap a few images. Can't wait to start shooting with the MK IV!

A big question for me please . How does mk iv focus beyond f5.6 as i have read that the sensors are horizontal only and not crosstype. Does it actually make any difference ? Basically I'm coming up from 7d and do nature stuff .
