I have been a slacker so far in 2010 so while the kid I babysit was in a good mood I decided to snap off a few quick ones. Just bounced flash in front of the patio door with my S5...still no SLR:cry:. Any CC would be wonderful!

Stop slacking and get shooting...

The compositions in these look rushed and not thought out to me. Sorry :(

Hands are cut off in the first two and the rug hides them in the third.

I'm sorry I agree. But hey there is always next time! Also the busy background in the first I'd not do again

Cute kid though!

Thanks for the comments guys! These were rushed, last minute kinda thing. The sun was shining off the snow on the back porch so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't have enough room to back up far enough to get everything in, seems like the ones with his hands in he didn't have a good expression. Oh well... try try again!

That's exactly how it goes for me. I rush through a set of pictures and while taking them I get the cutest smile or expression then when I open them up and look at the pictures I missed my composition.

My daughter is so easy to shoot and always has been. She turns to her good side, understands how to create angles with her head and can change her smile as directed. My son was the complete opposite. He likes to move around not make eye contact etc etc... You need to trick him into taking pictures.

Now with him I get everything set up, take a few test shots of where I will be shooting him and then trick him into joining me. Working out my compositions without him there has helped me get some very cute shots of him in the recent couple of years. I was about to give up on photographing him once he could walk :)
