morning is always the best time, but it had been raining for a couple days before i went up there, so the water was moving a bit...im not back til june when i start my job there so i'll probably have to wait until autumn to get enough water there. in summer it has started to turn into a sandbox

I think it was Maureen who had mentioned Mirror Lake's water level was a lot higher years ago.

yeah, the park service used to take steps to make it more of a lake, but has been allowing the natural processes to take over as of late

Five days until I leave for my trip to Yosemite. Thanks for all the info and shots you've posted. Now if I can just get a few good shots of my own, all the planning and $$ will be worth it.
