Did you seriously pay for the Canon HTC-100 Mini-HDMI cable?

I just got a SD780 is "digital elph" the other day and want to play back HD video on my HDTV. I know HDMI cables are expensive, but I got a 10$ one from my cable box to my TV and an even cheaper one from my PS3 to my TV, blu ray movies play nice, beautiful.

Well, I was a bit shocked at the 35.00 - 60.00 price for this canon cable. I was wondering if anyone has actualy paid that price to the cord or if you found a cheaper cable that does this trick. Maybe if I had a more high end camera, I would spring for the canon, but not for a camera that cost 200 bucks

Will any male to mini type "c" cables work? What do you use?

If you think canon charges a lot, wait til you see monster cable's prices... Or better yet, look at wireworld's platinum starlight HDMI cable or Furutech's power cable...

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

It doesn't matter for digital cables as long as your not getting any artifacts which shouldn't start to happen until 25-50 ft. Analog on the other hand does matter, but just remember that a nicer cable wont make it sound better, just keep it from sounding worse.

monoprice has a good selection and good prices.

I seen that one posted on engadet that would make monster look like generics, it cost a grand.

anyone else have a grand to blow on something that will be mostly tucked behind your TV (or for its price, incased in a diamond case)

So, I am assuming any HDMI with a mini connector on one end would be fine?

It is just an HDMI C cable. Here's a realistically priced one from amazon.

I just bought a mini HDMI to HDMI cable last week from Amazon.

I went with this one:
http://www.amazon.com …d=1264185459&sr=8-3-spell (external link)

The reviews were helpful, so I went with this one.

I have used it to view videos from my HFS-10 and my SD780IS. The cable works fine, no issues.

I am however very much disappointed with the video from the SD780, but that is a topic for another thread!

This cable I think was about $15 total with shipping, def. worth purchasing.
