I used the builtin mic so had to turn IS off .
I have just ordered a Rode Condenser Microphone hopefully this will help.

Well the new mic did not help at all ,it fits on the hotshoe and that puts it right over the IS Motor .
The bird sounds are indeed picked up better but you still have the IS motor in the background
the only way round it is to have and extention lead and place the mic on a pole or something well away i.e at leased 2ft - 5ft would be better away from the motor .
iv ordered a 3m ex cable.
