Challenge #258 - Personal Nostalgia
Personal Nostalgia -- Take me back, take us back to a scene, a look, a style, a place, an item, a whole era... whatever you can 'drum up' --- that brings back fond memories for you, and maybe even rouses a deep sense of connection. Use the Title to your advantage too.
If need, this may help explain 'nostalgia': http://www.freewikimedia.com/en/wiki/Nostalgia.html
Winners will be decided based on a combination of: the spur of originality, and photo excellence (amateur judge here).
p.s. -- acknowledged... 'personal' and 'nostalgia' is a bit redundant.

Cool capture conveys relaxed attention and being tuned to nature, the moment, oneself. I can see where the memory and the mood holds more than the eye can see.
For the picture itself, I would want to see it a little more dramatic… perhaps a shift of place where some rays of sun would have come in.
PaulB Forgot how much fun.
Definitely the expression fills the scene. A nicely captured moment.
The photo has got an appeal. I could talk myself into leaving the lower background in, or think to crop it out.
Maureen Souza Great-Aunt Florence's Doll (circa 1894)
Now that’s going back in time. On the surface, makes a statement about ‘no frills’ times. And then I take in that you’ve brought up your own memories and moments.
Photo is quite fine, if a bit understated… but that goes with the general sense of the era. Underscores it.
itmfl Summer vacation, no more class!
I like it… whatever it says. I can see you’re tying this to memorable days.
I like the photo. It’s a bit ‘raw’ in feel, but the mess and the stack hang together.
Car The sun shone, days were long and cares were few
Yes they were. A trip back (way back for some of us) to get back to such simple pleasures.
Nice picture, clearly grabbed the moment with the smiles.
rpolitsr When I was just a lad of ten
So this is a place where early impressions were made I take it. Old stomping grounds and fond memories no doubt.
I like the photo. Probably the 800 pix limit does not do it justice.
teekay Looking back...
That’s quite a collection, and definitely a walk back in time. (did you fly all of those?)
I like the picture and lighting.
marie loved & worn old scrapbook dated 1882, showing greeting cards from a different age
Thanks for sharing a glimpse back in time.
Picture is interesting, the way it emphasizes the age and use of the scrapbook… and leaves more I’d want to see. (and that's a good thing)
corythosaurus Wooden Blocks
That’s going way back,
(who knew those days prepared us for… texting)
Picture is nice for the detail and a bit of composition. I want a bit more somehow.
Kevan_G9 Charmed Life...
Bracelet and photos say it well. Times and turns of life lived.
Photo isn’t perfect, but it has a quality of drawing me in.
tmwag Fill er up
Definitely. There once was a time…. and all that went with it.
Photo… it’s there, it doesn’t wow though.
Mike53545 Rember this question: Did you remember the film?
Oh yeah… that was then. And ‘Adobe Photo Shop’ was probably really the adobe photo shop on the west side.
Picture is pretty basic.
BobsYourUncle Thursday, Friday, Happy Days . . . Rockin All Week . . .
Ah Yes. Be-bop, Rock, and Hop. How did we leave that behind?
The picture… well, just not the same hop to it.
Well gang, it’s a wrap. Thanks for digging back in your memories and sharing your experiences. No doubt there’s more depth and untold feelings accompanying each of your photos than we can imagine. I hope you’ve enjoyed traveling back.
I’ve got to pick three out of the bunch. If yours is not one of them, then know that this does not take anything away from your very personal moments in time…. Congratulations all!
