That's a fantastic Rainbow! I don't think I've seen one so perfect :)

So tell us.. does a Scottish rainbow have a pot of single malt at the end?

One of the most interesting rainbow shots I've ever seen. Very nice capture.

Peter, I need to talk to you about how you managed to take this shot - I know there must be magic involved, some spell which you invoke just as you see a sight like this.

Especially if you are driving along the road at the time, the spell allows you time to stop the car safely, grab the camera, adjust the settings, compose then focus and press the shutter.

Please, be a gentleman and pass on the incantation so other's can use it too.....   I missed one very similar to that on Sunday evening:cry:

Nice capture

Regards

David

It's a cracker... I see rainbows all the time, but I'm usually at the wheel of the car doing 70mph with a can of coke in my hand, desperately trying to reach my camera..... gone!

Nice capture!

Thanks for all the comments! It was quite a sight (lasted about five minutes) and I was fortunate to be parked, waiting for the ferry. Correction to location - this was taken from Dunoon, over-looking the Firth of Clyde. I was annoyed that I didn't have my tripod with me.

Wow, it actually looks like it is striking the surface. My understanding is that a rainbow will never strike land and is more of circle in the sky....but there it is...heh
