Its called At&T Virtual receptionist.
Free in the ap store.
you get 60 minutes free. Of course I have had 2 calls this week from unknown callers one of which left me a 6 minute blank message using up my time.

Does this work on jailbroken iPhone?

Youre welcome Todd.
I do not know if AT&T's receptionist will work on a jailbroken phone.
It's funny, I have hacked everything from my p&s cameras to my Wii but never felt I needed to on my phone.
By the way, for those that do not know you can now use Google Voice on your phone by visiting the website. On 3g!

Ive been doing something similar for years using a skype online number that i have forward to my cell phone. You can turn forwarding on and off on the fly, and change caller id options. Its not free but it has served me well. It has voice mail also. It all started because i moved and wanted to keep my out of state cell number so i got a skype number to forward to my cell. I also don't give out my personal cell number to anyone i do "business" with. Also if i am paying for something "around $30 US a year if i recall correctly" i can complain if its not working right, that might be harder to do with a free service.

Also skype to skype calls are probably the clearest calls i have EVER heard!

I also used to call my own skype number and leave myself reminders and messages when i didnt have a pen handy. Now i just use the voice recorder on my blackberry though.

I've been waiting for my google voice request to be fulfilled for awhile... after seeing this thread! Hadn't heard about it before, but it sounds awesome. But I've been waiting awhile. Right now it's at "invite only".... Is there a way anyone with google voice could send me an invite? (Thanks in advance!)

To those more experienced, how long did it take to receive invites to distribute?

I have one more person I'd like to get signed up, but I have received 2 invites from the forum, and didnt want to ask again.

See, Todd how do you get yours? I have been using it since I got my invite, but alas, I have not been able to send any of my own.
