So i just wanted to see who has bought feisol tripods/ monopods (or anything else) and what you think about it.

How does it compare to other Carbon fiber tripods? Likes dislikes?

i am thinking about saving up for a feisol traveler but i havent decided yet.

ALSO, if there is anything you want to tell about your tripod, go on ahead! Feisol users.... please help me out!

I have both monopods plus a tripod and I'm guite happy with them for the price. Some don't like the twist locks, I do.

I've had a 3441S for almost 2 years now and I've been very happy with it, no issues at all. And I would buy another one without hesitation.

Likes: Weight (or lack of), twist locks, feels sturdy, price.

I just received mine, 3442, so can't tell how reliable it is other than the few days I have played around with it. So far there is nothing I don't like about it and especially appreciate the low weight.

I have a Markins M10 with RRS lever clamp sitting on top of it.

I had a Feisol for quite a number of years with great success. The only reason I sold it was I am getting ready to do a lot of traveling so needed a travel pod. I do not have one bad thing to say about the Feisol.

It's nice to know that Feisols work great and look great out of the box. But as I see it, that's what this poll is, just a "first blush" reaction of Feisol owners to their chosen tripods, and a reaction of others to those reactions.

Let's keep in mind that this is a relatively new product to the market, and the real test and the real poll will be...how does a regularly-used Feisol product perform on the day after the warranty runs out? There must be some out there that have seen these sticks working for over the three years of the warranty, but perhaps they haven't been around that long.

Had my 3441S since May 08 and I'm still happy with it. I bought it as a lightweight travel tripod for a trip to France. It was great and still works well.

I purchased it from Feisol in the US - Great service, great price (landed)

Sorry if I came off negatively in my post above. I do believe that competition keeps everyone on their toes. But I've noticed twice over the last few years that these kind of finely-tuned mechanical items have failed within weeks of their warranty periods running out.

I for one don't tend to beat a tripod up, and I wonder how any of these sticks work in the hands of constant travelers and professionals who use them as tools and work them as such.

No problem! it didnt sound too negative.. its a legit question to have. I started this thread knowing that feisol is very new. I honestly have only been hearing good things and one thing i was hoping to get from here is 1) how many people do/dont/want/have it etc... hence the poll --- 2) see what the good and bad qualities of it and 3) get actual input from people who do have it whether its good or negative.

I would love to know what it is like once the warranty is up.

I think that the Feisol USA site has only been up since 2007 and over 1 million views.... so we should start getting to people who have had it for over 3 years soon :)

anyways, i want all kinds of input. Like i have said in my other posts, a tripod is my next purchase.... if i go aluminum, i would go with a $120 +- Leg with the 498rc2 ballhead or the 488rc2.

i am thinking about feisols because a complete set would be $400 or less and if i were going to spend more, i may as well get a used gitzo.

thanks again for your inputs guys!

Never heard of Feisols' brand of tripods. Will look into them as I am in the need for a new tripod. My big (to me) tripod died and it's only 35 years old. Somethings just don't last forever.

I use a Feisol ballhead, someday I hope I can afford a tripod to replace the aluminum one I have now.

A valid concern. They haven't been out all that long and since their first tripod they have made changes, improvements, new models which shouldn't be a big surprise for a new product.

There really isn't much to them, or any tripod, imo, so any problems that would arise would be in the construction/design and/or defects in the carbon fiber tubes, materials used in the leg locking mechanisms and that's about it.

Induro went through some problems about 2-3 years ago when they completely changed how they make the tubes for their (aluminum) legs. A major photo store in Montreal stopped selling them at that time and returned their entire inventory due to the high failure rate. They are stocking them again, since Induro improved their manufacturing process. This is what the people in the store told me, anyway, when I was looking for a tripod about a year ago.

Personally I think if the legs are problem free for 3 years they should be problem free for another 5.

Time will tell.
