Surfing- Waimea Bay 1/11/10

Hey all, managed to snap some of the biggest waves yesterday since 2006. There were at least 4 broken boards and 6 or 7 rescues. Waves reached heights of 30-35 feet and the shorline and roadside was packed with spectators and photogs alike, though this isn't anything new for the North Shore.

Shots taken with a 7d and 100-400L. All at f/5.6, Varying isos between 320-640 and varying shutter speeds between 1/2000th-1/6400th.

heard the bay was macking these past couple days! stoked you were able to capture it.

with the exception of #3 and #6, IMO the exposures are off on the others. your shutter speeds don't need to be that fast, maybe try: 1600 @ f5.6 w/ ISO 200-400 and some exposure compensation.
