Here's kind of a (no, a REALLY) stupid question...

How do I clean the felt on the inside of my lens hood on my 300 f/4 L IS?

I forgot to clean off my finger when I was brushing off a lens hood and I got some residue from a Pringle on it... :p :oops:

This is so embarrassing LOL. This is one of the threads I will look back on in a couple years time and wonder what the hell I was thinking. :lol:

Avoid putting it in the washing machine... yeah that's probably a good idea to keep L lenses away from the wash.

I use a bulb blower and masking tape...

I use tape as well. Also, for something stubborn try using a toothbrush gently.

I seemed to get most of it off with some cheap (not very sticky) scotch tape and my rocket blower.
