Would this be a good setup for a gripped T1i and 24-105? Any feedback is appreciated!

M10 is a better choice for those legs and for the future. It is a small weight difference and price difference; I'd only put a Q3 on a traveler tripod.

Thanks Hoff! I've got an angle for this setup for $600 in good shape and thought I should nab it! Sounded like a deal to me...

That is a good deal since you'd normally see the legs for $500-$550 used, I think. You can always check the used forums and see if selling the Q3 would be worth it. Otherwise it will certainly work for the combo you listed even if you don't change it.

I'm going to try and grab it this weekend. When I upgrade my body, I'll upgrade to a M10, and perhaps get a traveler tripod! I forget, how do I pay for all this stuff?

Hmm you're in L.A... Have you considered a scheme to rob Mick Jagger?

Great deal. You can always upgrade to an M10. The setup will easily hold your gear and most future equipment you plan on. Once you start on 300+ focal lengths you will see the limitations.

RRS seem like a great product. All their gear looks well made! Does the TB-20 base support the M10?

The RRS lever clamp makes things much more convenient and faster to use. The TB20 work great with the M10. As shown in my shot of the 2530 and M10, the base of the M10 fills the TB20 platform.

Do you reccomend the Markins camera plate or is it overkill? If not, what plate would you use with a BG-E5 grip?

Got this combo with a Markins TB-20 stabilizer for $600 tonight! Ordered a Markins PG-50 camera plate, which arrives next week! I'm stoked thanks for all the input everyone!
