Lee Filters

I have a stupid NOOB questions. I have read to meter the brightest part of the landscape then put the filter on (GND) then compose and take the shot.

Question 1... Do you meter within the camera in Av? Then you put in Manual?

Question 2... Do you put the filter on after you meter? Seems a tad redundant to me.

Question 3... Meter within the camera? I am confoozled because I have seen light meters and I was just curious if you could just meter on the camera.

You meter in manual. There is a little slider on the top of your body that gives a meter reading. Use that. If you meter in aV and then switch to manual to change the settings to what AV told you was correct, you are wasting time.

You meter for the darkest area to expose correctly by pointing to that area and spot meter using the light meter in the camera viewfinder.

You then put the GND on with the darkest part (graduated area) of the filter covering the lightest area of the scene graduating to the dark area you metered to stop the light area from blowing out.
