I'm headed to Vegas in a week for SHOT Show and plan on bringing my gear too. One thing I would recommend not bringing - your credit card(s)! :D Or leave it in your room when you go out gambling.

What type of memory card(s) do you have? I recommend making sure you either have enough of them or bringing a laptop or other storage device with you to download.

Be careful when shooting inside the casinos. Their security will stop you, so do it quickly and move along. And if you enjoy the "other" type of shooting, stop by the Las Vegas Gun Store to shoot some full automatic rifles. I plan on doing that, and getting some cool pictures of my friends doing it too.

Do you have a remote? You should be able to find someone on the strip to take pictures of the two of you. But just in case you don't, you might want to get/bring one of those. I love Vegas. Have fun!

Gear List
Can I take your picture? "I'll swallow your soul!" Well, my camera will at least.

American Shooter on Arville off Spring Mountain a few blocks from the strip is a good place to shoot those automatic rifles.
Go to red rock canyon, end of Charleston blvd 30 minutes away or valley of fire 45 to 1 hour away on i15 north are two places for good outdoor shoots.
Another place to shoot is the bone yard for all those discarded neon lights at http://www.neonmuseum.org/ (external link)
see their shoot policy and note they are closing in February for construction.
Cheers

If it was me, I'd travel as light as possible if this isn't a photo safari/trip.
I'd personally take the 50D and the sigma 10-20 and maybe the 30mm for portraits.

Good luck, have fun, and be safe.

If you want to get nighttime photos of the Bellagio fountains, take some filters - I didn't have them and I found it really difficult to balance the exposure. An ND Grad mounted upside down would have been ideal.
