I call this a 'Magical Moment..'

A walk in the park with this wonderful couple yielded this dramatic sunlight kiss.

I believe fully that it was a magical moment !

Congrats to them.. Young romance and love is what all couples should feel and experience in their relationship..

and i hope to have capture that in this photo....

Strobist info..

Camera:Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure:0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture:f/3.2
Focal Length:90 mm
ISO Speed:250

i had the flex and flex combo when i did this shot..
580EXII on a stand, bare camera right about 10 feet away from the couple..

you can click on the photo to see my newly created flickr stream.. (Flickr is so new to me.. so many things to learn..and wow.. the talent pool there just incredible!!)

Nice. Did you add the texture, or was that a compression issue?

Pham,

This one did nothing for me at first, so I moved back farther from the screen and looked at it from 4 feet away, and it changed the overall feel to me.

This one above most others would work in a large frame, on a wall.

that does look like a really nice moment..
i love what you captured here..my only grip is i'm not digging processing or photo shop action you used on this one....i can see your trying for the vintage film grain washed out look..
but my eyes keep getting drawn to the wood on the bridge and the large rocks.. which look kinda funny with the grain type speckles on them..

i was looking at your filkr page (really good stuff pham) and you have a picture of a girl lying down in the grass facing the camera and you used the same photoshop action on it, and i love that picture. just like this one but the processing takes away from it a bit..

but that just my view of it.. you may love it and that is totally cool!!

Have to agree with you here... to me the 'old grainy film' has almost given the image excessive posterization and striping...

Other than that, though, things look great. Love the composition and lighting (as I always do with your shots!)

Personally I'd give this another shot at developing, see what else could work...

Cheers

I've looked at this a few times Pham. Tried moving back too--as someone else suggested. I do agree that it somehow looks a little better from further away--almost like a painting. Personally I like it. It has a really nice feel, but I would suggest that others might want to look at it from a distance greater from their monitors than they would normally do. I think this would make a great large print--16 to 20inches along the longer side. Nice capture.
