My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

I got it from the Bristol Britannia XM496 at Kemble when I became the elekky on it after it was donated to the trust there. It was holding the aircraft batteries in place!!! I have turned some of it and I await the right time to do owt else with what I have now. It's the holy hell on HSS turning tools! Yes I guess it doesn't get its name from being soft!. I think there are a few species called ironwood around the world. There's even another quite unrelated species (an Acacia) with that name in the Northern Territory, down in the dry country of central Australia. Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
