Dec 10, 2016 15:25 | #697 A little different... here's an uprooted stump. It's a fav because of the post, which really saved the image. PP through NIK Color Efex using a variant of that black gold preset. First time I've been able to use that preset for a good effect. And another dead one... this one's a fav, too, showing a beauty in death kind-of thing. 23 mm-ISO 800-1-1000 sec at f - 11 X100T XT3

Dec 14, 2016 00:16 | #704 Have a new favorite tree now, a coast redwood. Just hung a 40 x 60 print canvas of this in a Crescent City gallery I've been putting artwork in for a couple years. Stretch your browser on a monitor for this one. Put a speedlite behind the small trunk to light the person and the right dark side of the trunk. Lots of shade under 300 ft. of canopy. Went with a 1/2 second shutter, but no slower due to an occasional breeze. Image hosted by forum (829318) © mdvaden [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW.
