Is my 550EX compatible with a PowerShot G7?

Just as the title says, would my 550EX work on a PowerShot G7?
The reason I ask this question is, the company I work for is having a safety milestone presentation and I was asked to take some photos during the event for the corp. website and newsletters. Since the event will be on a plant site, I will not be allowed to bring my camera for security reasons, but can bring my flash and use it with the company camera(the G7).
I did some checking around and I see that Canon specifically lists the 220EX, 430EX & 580EX as possible choices and I've heard that a few people have used a 420EX, but the 550EX is not listed.
Does it have a different output voltage to the camera or something? I thought all of the EX line was very similar in that respect and the differences being function and features.

Anyway, thanks for the help in advance.

I'd think that any EX series flash would work. I use a 430EX with my G11 occasionally, but I know that doesn't help much.

Any of the EX flashes should be fine
It's the older flashes that you need to worry about. The 550ex can be used on your Dslr too.

Rocking the R6 and (mostly) the 24-105 f4 L, 50mm f1.8 STM, and EF 135mm f2 L along with a few others.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it will work. I did more searching and did find an obscure review on a site showing that a guy did use a 550EX on a G7. Then, I checked ours out and tried it. It works just fine.

I bought it to use on my 20D & 1D MIIn, but since they won't let me bring my cameras on site, I have to use what's available.

I was just afraid to damage company equipment. Thanks again
