Hi everyone,

While searching my name to see if my new website would come up in the search I found this,

http://blogs.nationalgeographic.com …er-for-social-change.html (external link)

The shot used for the article is mine, taken during the Homeless World Cup Street Soccer, Melbourne 2008. Although a lot of my shots from the event were used for different sites/news etc I was pretty stoked to see this.

Cheers
Daniel

Did you know that when you submit a shot to National Geographic, they offer the outstanding ones as a free wallpaper download ? Sized 1600x1200 pixles

I'm not sure I understand your question. They say that the shots were submitted to "your shot" and they say by who. There are some great looking shots. I was just surprised. Sure it would be nice to say that you were published in NG but should they really offer them to the world as a download?

Didn't check out the site all too much to see where it says "your shot" (still don't see it but not looking to hard)...but he seems surprised to see it used if submitted, when if you submit it you'd be looking for/expecting it.

Do not like that wallpaper thing.

Found it when searching my name when looking to see if my website would come up in the search NG credits the photog.

The photo was taken for an event over a year ago for a sports company Photoworx, was suprised as you really dont know where your images end up when you shoot for someone else.
Also had shots used for online news, a sports technique tutorial and AAP stock, all from the same event.

As someone who considers himself an amature I'm quite happy.

Cheers
Daniel
