I see they arnt on the battery test page that is in the sticky. I was just wondering if they were new. They are comparable to the others in price...and I would assume are supposed to be more powerful.

Also, does anyone know of a good place to buy batteries?

Also, how many batteries do you guys usually use up in say...2 hours of pretty much continuous shooting?

Just wondering how many batteries I might need for my biggest days...hate to run out of juice you know!

Where ever is closes. Target, circuitcity, bestbuy, Walmart. I seen them for around $16 for 8 or $9 for 4. I Usually buy my rechargable from Microcenter they have Digital for $5 for 4 and recently they had another brand, Ultralast, 1.5hr charger and 4 2300mAH for $14.

I have the Energizer 2500 NiMH batteries and they are much more powerfull then my other brands. Now you can buy a set with charger.
The charger comes with a cable that you can use in your car the charge the batteries.
I have 2 sets of 4 and with a 580 i never had any problem falling out of power.
While one set is in the flash the other is in the charger and untill now I had no problem.
I suggest you buy at least 2 sets and IMHO you will have no problems with the batteries and no problem in running out of power.

I have two sets of the the 2500 with the fast charger. I can usually shoot 4-5 hours of off and on shooting, and have also used for as long as 10 hours off an on for a music festival.

Forget about Enegizer. The Powerex are great and will be cheaper from Thomas Distributing.

The Powerex batteries are very good, but only second in line from Energizer.
See the tests on this link:

The Powerex arnt that much cheaper than the Energizer though.

Thats why I was wondering if they were better, because you can get the MAHA 204C W charger with 4 Energizers for about $5 more than the same package with the Powerex.
