Haven't taken much of interest this week so was going through some taken last year in Petra (Jordan) of a chap lazing in the sun.

Not sure which way to crop this one:-

thought this was okay:-

then had a look at a portrait shot of the same scene:-

which one do I get printed?

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Well on the original I thought that the bod having a snooze looked a bit small in comparison so you'd miss the point of the pic..

Was there meant to be a 3rd shot? Or reminding us of the link of the first image.

Anyway, freaky stuff, the 2nd one really draws you into the danger.
The first I like anyway, but I didn't notice the person at first. I was more interested in the great ravine.

sorry! - typo'd the third pic number.
Actually there was a third shot,
http://joebloggs.servebeer.com/potn/img_9174.jpg (external link) in which an idiot tourist ventured out on the ledge to speak to the guy, who immediately sat up & led the tourist back to the safety of the path further back.

I like the first one as it is. If it were me I'd put some effort into dealing with the slight over/under exposure of the foreground and cliff face before printing it.

Cool shot, I had a go at cropping it and played a bit in PS, for me it makes it more dynamic.
Roger.

I like bikerider's version.
The others look over sharpened combined with over exposure.

The devil is in the details...Especially at 100% crop!

No worries Joeseph, glad you like the crop.......looks like you have a nice choice of lenses to shoot with, despite the focal length gap. I'm thinking about the 100-400L myself.
Roger.
