Taking apart a Canon G5

Anyone know a how to manual with pictures on the net ?

When I tried to take apart my G2, I subsequently lost a lot of the small screws holding the casing together ... obviously it's easy to lose them once they are loosened.

hehe I would think so I have a magnettray to put all the screws in so probably everything will work out fine

I would recommend laying down a strip of masking tape folded ovr onto itself to put the screws on. Put the tape on a piece of paper so you can label where each screw goes. There are about 6 different types of screws on the G5 of various lengths, head types, and screw pitches. This coming from someone who has literally had almost every Powershot camera on the market apart completely.

BTW, what is it that you are trying to fix/replace?

I'm not sure that I need to take it apart yet I'm bidding on a broken G5. The lens won't come out and it flashes lens error in the display I will try any other options first I read about the wiggeling of the lens so I will try that first
