Really like #2 and #6. The dark/black background really pops the foreground action. And happy to see it was the MkII - having just managed to get a used MkIII, I can't afford to start with Mk4 envy yet.

Thanks all. One thing to note is that I used strobes in some of these.

Dave, when you say you used strobes, what kind and where are they? ARe they bounced or direct? Any chance of taking a pic of where the strobes are?

Thanks, and good shots.

Mark,

The lights are elichrome rx600a if I remember correctly. They are the college photo services that I used to work for. I called my old boss and he let me use them since they weren't. Strobe postions are over the four courners of the court in the rafters of the huge arena. They are direct trigger by skyports. The skyports seem to have a lot of problems and they are going to use something else.

I like the wide shot in #2. Looks like you got flashed by your own strobe! :-)

What kind of problems? Simply misfires or something more "electronic" in nature?

misfires after 6-9 shots.. keep in mind that this is a NCAA arena and they have to go by NCAA regulations for setting up permanent strobes. so I dont think it is a wiring problem.

Were you using RX Receivers or Universal Receivers? I ask because if you're using RXs, I wonder if their location "on top of the light" (with the strobe pointing downward) would cause a loss of signal at all.

Was it repeatable? Exactly every X number of shots? Maybe you were getting stepped on in some way?

That I dont know... most likely the RX the school dropped like 5k on the lights and the set up... but I didnt head that decision when i worked there.

These look like the receivers... and they plug into the lights.. so these have to be it.. http://www.elinchrom.com/products.php?p_id=32 (external link)
