Interesting set up with the light on the edge of the surf - bit risky as well with all that salt water so close to sensitive electronics.... Hope you rinsed your stands. I live very close to the beach and have to keep all metal things oiled otherwise they rust away while I am waitng.
I guess while you were shooting the sky clouded over. Especially in #5, #6 and #7 the ambient light and the light you brought with you is a bit conflicting. The model is well lighted but the surf behind her is dull and greyish. The lighting of the model suggests "sunny day" and the background says: it is getting pretty cloudy.... Especially in #5 and #7 that even gives a bit the idea that you shot against an artificial background. Wonder what others think of this.
In some of the others I notice a crooked horizon, like in #4 and #5 and a bit in #7.
yeah, i was concerned with the proximity of the VB to the water but i had an assistant close by to scoop it up if the waves got close. and yes, stands are rinsed off.

I'm not as good and don't have much to say, but #3, she doesn't have hands. I think they turned out really well though, def magazine material.

Nice shots and gorgeous models. I agree with #3 though, it looks weird with her hands dug into the sand like that. Other than that, great results.
yeah, i just kept shooting....but once the wave came in, she'd get buried.
they were great models to work with!

I think you did a great job but I do agree it's risky with the lightening so close to the water. I'm glad you posted these here so I could actually comment. I tried to get early admittance to the G&N section, but with no luck. You're lucky you're almost to 500. It seems like it takes forever. Thanks for sharing these. The models are gorgeous.
i def wouldn't try this set up unless you had an assistant who can grab the lighting at a moments notice.

#3 looks like she is about a second away from bursting onto the scene like the police!
she did a few times.

Excellent material and whilst I am in no hurry to get my post count up for g and n, it's nice to be able to offer an opinion for a change.
your opinion is greatly appreciated.
