So I happened to come across a slightly used 580 Ex II flash for cheap and also have a Sunpak Power Zoom 4000AF as a slave flash. I am working with a Canon xti and (situation 1) would like to use the 580 to control the Sunpak and (situation 2) use a trigger to trigger both the 580 and Sunpak off the camera.

I came across the RF-602 with 2 receivers and wondering if this would be a suitable trigger for what I am looking to do.

I am fairly new to photography and also don't want to spend more than what the 602's would cost.

Thanks in advance and look forward to posting some of my work when I get it all set up.

The Yongnuo RF-602s are the best wireless triggers for the money (IMHO) but you must understand that you can only use the flashes in Manual mode when you use these triggers.

Yep, I would strongly recommend the Yongnuo RF-602.

Thank you very much. I assumed by not spending 300 bucks for a wireless flash trigger you don't get the ETTL.

I honestly don't use ettl most of the time anyways, especially for off camera flash. But no, no ettl =/
