Added a tattoo to go with his look... So question is... Do you like the tattoo or is it overkill?

I really dislike the added tattoo, and really like the first shot! If I had to nitpick, I wish you hadn't cut off the bottom of his foot.

Great shot, great rim-lighting. Although I'm not a fan of the tatt, I'm sure that your son is over the moon seeing it and showing it off to his friends.

Totally cute... :) My vote goes to the one without the tattoo.. although I'm impressed with your PS skill on adding it in... ;)

Thanks a lot everyone for the comments. I wish I would've gotten the bottom part of his foot too. I had noticed his foot before PP and was kicking myself in the butt for it. But when shooting a 5 year old, you get what you get on a moments notice. I know what to watch out for next time.

As for the tattoo, I will be tossing that one to the side. He seems to enjoy it, but then again he wants to be like Daddy... Thanks for all the C&C, and keep it coming if you have anything else. The site has played a huge part in me learning how to shoot.

Thanks...

I think I would like the added ink, if it looked more natural. The tat, indeed, looks added in. That aside, I love the photo. He gives off a good deal of attitude, for such a little guy!

The Tattoo is fine but I think it's the strength of it that makes it look wrong. If you could tone it back so it looked a little more natural I think it could work.

I've tried to knock the opacity down a bit... Hows this?

If anyone else wants to have a hack at it, send me a PM and I will send you the raw file. :)

i like the tat idea, but he seems like more of a traditional Japanese style tattoo kinda guy. he's begging for a dragon or koi :-)

The arm one is working now the neck one seems flatly lit in relation to the curve of his neck and I'm not sure it will ever look completely right.
