I'm so tired of having to clean my nose grease or smudges off the lcd screen, do you think Canon will make one?

Thanks,

Al

Yes, Canon makes for every EOS body. Good for everyone who wears glasses too.

That's EP-EX15, it won't fit 7D. I just checked (I have it on my 40D)

Or ... maybe a nose sock. :D I have a very greasy nose and keep my LCD screen on my 7D well lubricated. The problem with extenders is that they reduce the size of the viewfinder image and sometimes crop the view a bit. I have one on my XTi and finally took the lenses out of the extender.

No, they don't. At least not for the 7D which has the same eyepiece as the 1 series.

unless you mod it and take out the magnifying thingy inside. It's an easy mode using the small philips screw driver.

As others have said, no extender for the 7D. But I've got the Aquatech eyepiece which is much better than the Canon one.

I have the same problem with my anglefinder, fit the 50D but not the 7D, presumably as it is 100% viewing. Dang.

????

Doesn't that mean you can just used the eyepiece from a 1d?

You can, but it doesn't make any difference, as that's what the 7D is delivered with.

Ah... I know the 1D eyepiece sticks out further, but I guess that is the part built into the camera, not the eyepiece itself.

Maybe it does because on a camera like the 1D Mark III, the eyepiece shutter must also be housed inside the viewfinder. There is no such shutter on the 7D. It has the dioptric adjustment where the shutter lever is on the 1D Mark III, and nothing at all on the other side.

Interesting, I had the epex15 for my 400d, didnt need it on my 40d as the eyepiece seemed to stick out further, now 7d and I could do with one too.. the aquatech site states the CEP1 for 1d up to mk2 and 5Dmk2 and the CEP1b for the 1dmk3.. anyone with a 5dmk2 and a 7d could maybe see if the eyepiece is interchangable or someone with a 1dsmk3 and a 7d check it thats the right one please :) ??

oRGie - I am an EOS and the 7D was my idea

It would of been nice if the 7D had a similar design as the 1D eyepiece. I guess I will just have to deal with the nose grease on the lcd.

I have used my Angle Finder C on my 7D. You might need to search through your spare parts to find the other adapter that came with the Angle Finder. At 1.25X, you can see the full FOV, but at 2.5X, you see a circle that does not cover everything.
