Feel free to CC. Taken in Ogden Utah. Was a 3 shot HDR, I found the black and white most appealing.

I like this very much. Everything I dislike about most of the HDR images I see these days is not evident. It's probably because of the conversion to B&W, but this is really very nice.

I like the composition very much, too.

Can you tell us anything about the locomotive?

I would second Belmondo's comments. Very interesting.

I like it. Might like it better without the tilt, but that's a small nit to pick.

Yeah I thought about that too, I shot it at near 10mm.

Agreed

What sort of things are those? I'd hate to fall in to a trap.

What a great shot .... I love old steam locos. You shot this from an unusual angle that really shows the side rods and powerfull impact. The black and white is perfect for this subject.... I would like to see this with a bit of sepia tone, but thats just me.
Dang, I wish I shot this!

HDR is a useful tool, but it is often done poorly. One of the common things I see is the 'halo' effect that results from heavy tone mapping. There is none of that in this image.
