Im am a novice with CS4.
My question is, can I add to an existing action?
I was given a nice framing action.
I want to add "save as and close" to this action.
Any tips.
Thanks in advance.

Click on the triangle next to the action you want to change. Once that is open, select the name of the action. While that is selected go to the panel options in the top right corner of the panel. Pull down to "Insert Menu Item...", when that window opens up, go to file and select "save" under "file" menu then hit ok on this window. You should see that it added a save step into that action. Then go back to the panel options and select "Insert Menu Item" again, once the window is open, select "close" under "file" menu then hit ok on window. That will put a close step under your save step that you just made. They should automatically go to the bottom of that particular action but if it does not you can just drag and drop it to where you want it. Doug Cross

If you're ending up with a layered file and you're saving it to a file type that cannot have layers you will need to add a flatten command before the save step otherwise you will have to hit the save button before it will close. Way more flexible and less prone to errors. Better yet, useDr. Browns 1-2-3-process Thanks, will give it a go. ShawnSmugmug
