Momma showed up but my partner was keeping a lookout for her and warned me to back off when she showed up :).

:pJust figured out AEB on me camera woot woot
400D 18-55mm and 75-300mm
:)Always use protection, don't want to get your equipment damaged :)

Not so mad, black bears are actually quite timid, in fact getting one to stay around long enough to pose for a photo can be rather difficult. As long as you know how to behave around them and don't do anything stupid you'll be fine. I've lived in bear country for the last thirty years, my biggest problem with them is replacing the bird feeders they destroy every spring :) .

Lol.... I don't come across many bears in Aus, but mumma looks like she's coming straight for us!!

I took a quick shot then backed out of her way, she was heading for her two cubs :). I'm not afraid of bears but those Australian crocs... YIKES :)

Same problem here. I have one living close enough he cleans it out every night if I forget to bring it in. He's not even hibernating this year. That long tongue is designed for cleaning out bird feeders.
