Pulled the trigger today

So today we ordered a 5D Mark 2 with the grip. Upgrading from an old Rebel XT, long over due! Looking forward to pairing the 5D2 up with our 24-70 2.8 & 70-200 2.8 IS. I like to shoot rock concerts from time to time as well as getting outdoor and getting some big whitetails in front of the camera during the rut in central wisconsin, while my fiance is starting to do many portrait/wedding type work so this thing will surely go to good use!

All that I still really want is that wide angled 17-40mm L and maybe try a teleconverter for some of my wildlife photography. My dad shoots the 7D and 400mm and he's real good with that new 7D but I can typically do alright.

Fun stuff! Can't wait for the thing to get here!

Congrats, its a great camera.

O man... thats awesome. Have fun with your camera man. Just remember, the weather sealing is only good when the battery grip is not attached I believe. (someone please correct me if I am wrong)

Good point about the grip - that totally makes sense to me so i'll have to remember to be extra careful when i'm out shooting deer with the thing.

Yes it is quite the upgrade, however I will admit the XT was my first SLR and you know that thing has really been a quality camera and we've had good success with it. But, i'm really looking forward to the 5D2, especially at a live music concert!

My credit card was finally authorized today (buying from canon directly) so hopefully I'll have this thing soon! Cant wait to post some shots, first stop is the Harley Davidson Museum here in Milwaukee!
