Finally had the opportunity to shoot a wedding on my own, and here's a first cut at editing some of my favorite shots. Fortunately the Bride was gorgeous, which made my job easier. Unfortunately, she also cut my knees out from under me in several ways (see my thread last week in the talk section about indoor locations in DE). She was also an hour late getting her hair done, which left me about 35 minutes to do the formals - so I was lucky to get anything there I was happy with. Anyway, here goes (keep in mind this is just a first cut on editing, and any suggestions are welcome).

Question for you - are you calibrated? All of them look a bit too dark to me. I do like the composition on #3 quite a lot.

I am super cool n' stuff.

Actually, no my monitor is not calibrated. That's the next thing on my list, especially since I just got a new monitor and haven't printed anything I've edited yet.

I like 5 a lot too.
#1 i would do some editing on her teeth, there is some lipstick on them and they just drew my attention right away.

Yeah, I saw that immediately, too. I only ran those through DPP, so I definitely will fix the exposure and touch up her teeth in all the shots.

Is that his stomach or his arm? And #7 looks a little soft to me on their faces.

Hmm, I dunno which it is - but it has to go :)

I think they probably moved a little - the exposure was around 1/10s

shooting in the dark like that you may need to invest in a faster lens. a few seem to have some blurring issues.

Sell off one of those bodies and get a new lens.

... or next time don't leave the tripod in the lobby of the dupont hotel :p!

It was a crazy day, and with my wife as my assistant - well - it wasn't a "smooth" day. I was smart enough not to blame leaving the tripod behind on her, as well as to also have my monopod in the trunk.

I agree, though - another 50/1.4 is in my future. I'm also hoping to replace my 24-70 with an IS version ;-)a
