I love conspiracy theories.. Maybe it's because I can be a bit of a sceptic..

Let's talk and list your conspiracies..

I'll start with this one.. I believe computer antivirus companies (no names mentioned but you get the idea) invent viruses, launch them to keep computer users paranoid so they'll buy their programmes to keep their sales up..

Heck. that's small fry Jurgen. It's akin to lightbulb companies who could make lightbulbs which would last forever for the same price as it costs to make ones which last 1000 hours. Those companies would go out of business pretty quickly. My washing machine broke down two days after the 3 year guarantee ran out. My last TV developed faults roughly 4 weeks after its guarantee ran out. My parents bought one in 1974 which lasted 28 years. Go figure.
If you want to get your teeth into a good conspiracy look into the additives in pre packaged food and the research which has or hasn't gone in to its long term effects on humans. Who buys such products? Poorer people. Anyway, I'm out of here. My cover is blown:D;).

Robert.

Jurgen, I'm a big conspiracy buff too. Most of mine involve politics so I won't list them, OK maybe just one that involves the country you were born in. The Gallipoli Campaign was full of conspiracies most of them resulting in bad things for the ANZAC troops involved. You may be right about the computer virus thing, I'll have to look into that.

The conspiracy theories I hear generally lack reason, and common sense. In this case, there are loads of them already so why would an anti-virus companies need to invent them.

I have a theory that IR conversion companies deliberately do not have DIY guides for 1D series cameras, because folks would see how much easier it is to do than lower models. (IR companies typically charge quite a bit more to convert 1D series cameras)

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Office2007 was designed to be nothing like Office2003 so that Micro$loth could make a killing on retraining

There's eleven gazillion barrels of oil in the ground under North & South Dakota. Enough to satisfy North American demand for over 2000 years. But the environmentalists are using their influence on the gov't so that it will not be mined.

The environmentalists are financed by the Arabs and other mid-east oil producers who quite like North America to be dependent on them.

....or so I heard.

That's not a conspiracy, it is standard M$ business practice (and Cisco too).

Every product has just enough changes to infuriate and aggravate the casual user, forcing the so-called "experts" to need re-certification.

After a couple smaller revisions it only makes sense that people start to catch on to the minor changes. Now you have to roll out a major overhaul to keep the certifications churning.
