two questions-
how do you place a watermark on your photos, I do not have the pro subscriptions at smugmug and my level does not include watermarks

how do you indicate that your photo is copyrighted, do you just simply place a copyright mark?

thanks

Cheers,
Tony

1 - upgrade to the watermark level or place it on as a layer in photoshop or whatever you use.

2 - you automatically own the copyright but should register it.

3 - use the search button at top.

You can just easily create one yourself with most photo editing programs.

Photoshop, Picasa (Free)(http://picasa.google.com/ (external link)), etc...

**I am not a smugmug user so don't fully understand their system**

I understand that people can buy prints using smugmug. Be careful putting watermarks on your files if you don't want them to come out on the print.

I think smugmug puts the watermark on the web photo, but prints without it

Yes, correct. They only watermark in software only. They print w/o a watermark.

Yeah, that's what I'd thought, but if he watermarks the JPG manually (eg. lightroom) and then uploads that to smugmug surely it'd print with the watermark?
