I plan to start getting into off-camera flash lighting and strobe setups. I'd likely use the setup mainly for car photography at night.

I've got it in my mind to get at least 1 430EX II and 1 580EX II.

I'll probably start with the 430EX II first and work my way up to the full setup as funds permit. The plan is for the 430 to eventually be the slave and the 580 the master.

So I guess I need to know all the equipment I would need, like stands, umbrellas, etc.

Also need to know in which best order I should go about getting the stuff, giving me time to grow into it, and easing the hit on the wallet.

Stands, umbrellas, and umbrella brackets are not that expensive. Cheap ones work fine as far as I can tell. I use with 45" umbrella with my 430EX II and it is a little on the large side for the power of the flash, but better a umbrella to large for a flash than one to small I guess!

Thanks for the reply!

You have any suggestions as far as stands, umbrellas, brackets go? I'm a newbie at the strobe lighting equipment. In information gathering mode right now.

Also do you have a recommendation in which order I should get things?

go to B&H and search for the impact kit. you get 2 stands, 2 brackets and 2 umbrellas for $99. add an additional umbrella to your order so you have a spare.
