Tokina 12-24 version 2 VS. version 1

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knows of the quality difference between the new
tokina 12-24 and the old one. I know I can get a second hand old tokina for
about 350-400. The new one is about 500 from Amazon. Would you get the
new one for the multi-coating thing or would you just get an older one and
save that 100 bucks?

For the Canon mount, I beleive the only difference is a new coating on the glass to reduce flare. I have the original version and have not had any issues do to flare so I'd look at saving a few dollars and get the older lens.

the 12-24 I was selling new for $400 for a little while before the II came out and for the entire time after the II was released until the stock ran out.

The I is a fine lens and I would save your money and try and find one for $350.
