3:2 Aspect Printing Online in UK - Recommend Value and/or Pro Online Services?

Hi All,

I've been searching this forum for a little while looking at folks' recommendations for online photo processing in the UK; but it seems information isn't quite as abundant as it is with other topics. I'm just wondering if anyone could recommend online labs which deliver in the UK, but crucially - offer a good range of 3:2 aspect print sizes. Obviously there are countless labs out there, but I can't find many that'll do 18" x 12" for example.

So, recommendations are gratefully received - and I'm just as keen to hear about places at the more 'value' end of the spectrum where things are 'off the peg', and/or services at the upper end of the market which might give more flexibility regarding paper types, colour profiles (and correction options) etc.

Oh, and if the odd mention or two appears suggesting reasonable mounting and framing to suit said 3:2 prints too, I'd be over-the-moon!

Thanks and regards,

Rob.

Rob,

If you are looking for high quality, then one company that does good work is Loxley Colour. If you are looking for a low cost option, then I know AP regularly runs a series of test images through the major players in the business and writes up the results. They would be happy to sell you a copy of their latest article.

A3 is a perfectly normal paper size so I am surprised you have not found someone prepared to offer it.

But it is not 1:1.5. All the A sizes, except for A3+, are 1:1.414.

DS Colourlabs is exactly what you want. They do many sizes including 12x18. Excellent service and quality. I, and many more on the Talkphotography forum, recommend them

Thanks for the info so far folks...

DS Colourlabs look interesting and at £1.10 for an 18" x 12" they fit the value criteria pretty well. Not that it has to be a deal breaker (but might require a bit of batch-processing on multiple image runs), but do you know how strict are they on print proportioned originals at 300dpi being supplied for all prints?

I've been looking at RGB for a 'higher end' solution - being able to manage colour correction, print resolution and select paper etc. is great - but I don't need that with every single print, so DS would be great - particularly if I could throw them a file (usually higher resolution at print size than 300dpi) and just pick a print size.

Does anyone know of any others offering larger than 18" x 12" at 3:2 while still using lab process?

Thanks again and regards,

Rob.

+1 for RGBs pro service.
I'm lucky as I live on the doorstep and as such get an extra level of abuse from the staff F.O.C.:lol::lol:
