Work has really been consuming a lot of my time lately. But I managed to grab a few moments this evening and practice my PP on a shot of a Chickadee from last weekend. The forecast looks like we may have some sun this weekend and I hope that holds true.

C&C is always welcomed and appreciated.

Beautiful Chickadee...I love the intense look it has about it.

And since we've kinda been back and forth on processing steps I'm going to point out some things I see in this image. Look around the feet and the perch (mainly the right side of the perch looking at the image)..I can see a line where the BG adjusments ran into the subject...basically some bluring ran over. Another thing I notice is the flatness of the image (this was pointed out with my images after trying to recover some detail in the darks)...I brought this image into CS3 and added +3 of neutral color in the selective color menu (I usually add +5 of red and yellow as well) and also added some contrast. Maybe try that and see how you like it.

Again, this is just me and each person is different on how they "see" an image.

I noticed that line around the perch too, but couldn't figure out a way to eliminate it. I did use "Refine Edge" when I was selecting the background but couldn't get the line problem fixed in that area.

I do think the color bump does help. I have been trying to expose for the highlights and then process for the shadows on these black and white colored birds... but its harder than it sounds. At least for me.
