no i've never used anything longer than 100mm with my corpper. i'm mainly asking because the 300mm, 480mm equivlant seems a bit extreme. 200mm seems pretty handy shooting from the back of a church.

200mm from the back of the church will work fine if you want whole body shots or it's a small church.

Sometimes 300(480) is about right: http://www.flickr.com …kennethrberry/4126141859/ (external link)

Sometimes 960 (300 + 2x teleconvertor on a 1.6x crop) is not nearly enough so you end up cropping most of the shot out and getting something that is sub-par but the best you cold manage under the circumstances: http://www.flickr.com …kennethrberry/4149378008/ (external link)

Dancers shot with Sigma 120-300/2.8. Not exactly a "consumer level zoom", but there ya go.

Then you can easily do the math. 200mm would put you 2x as far away for the same framing. 300m = 3x. Not really THAT far, is it? :)

Dude, those are awesome shots. My wife loves hummingbirds and I have yet to get her a shot close to what you have. My hat's off to ya.
