OK I have cleaned my sensor several times but have used a blower or suction. I had a few spots that would not come up this time so I used a swab. I have the kit from Sensor Scope but like I said this was the first time to use a wet swab. Anyway I get done and at first glance it looks great but closer inspection there are streaks. I have gone over it several times now and can't get them to go away. I have tried more solution, less solution nothing seems to work. The less I use 1 drop vs 2 leaves less streaks but they are still there.

Any ideas?

You need to get a bottle of Eclipse, it's pure methanol/solvent and it evaporates totally in 2 or 3 seconds. Guaranteed to leave no residue, which is what you've got now. Unfortunately, that's your only option at this point. With a water-based solution, you could use only one drop and wait 30 minutes before swabbing and you'll still get streaks.

Good luck,
Nicholas

Try letting the swab dry for a few seconds before you swab the sensor. I use E2 solution, and they recommend using a drop of solution, letting it dry for 10-15 seconds, then swabbing. Experiment with different drying times.

Thanks guys I will have to try drying times and hope that works. I have 2 shoots Saturday and don't have time to get the Eclipse, but will get some on order.

Really hope it works
