Utter ignorance on my behalf, but what is an Apple HD Cinema Display and how does it fetch $1400 used? Cinema suggests projecter, but projectors aren't that expensive, so I'm quite confused!

It's an epic piece of kit. I tested it out for Matt.

This morning I took my car into a smash repairer approved by my insurer and it may be a write off - so will be looking for a cheap/good/older car - perhaps a BMW or Golf.

Did any of you see this in the SMH/Age? http://www.smh.com.au …ollars-20100504-u6y8.html (external link)

A write off? Didn't they only jam up the key-hole?

A new keyhole costs more than the car is worth ;)

They tried to lever off both locks on driver and passenger doors, shoved a screwdriver into the drivers door lock and scratched the hell out of every side panel (that's the main issue).

What kind of car was it?

Sounds like they're being lazy to me. :p

I guess it's a win for you, but a very odd write off none the less.

"...Music photographers such as Richard Sharman are up against agencies such as Getty, ''who rely on their size to flood the editorial market with dirt-cheap photos or fans with cameras who will happily shoot musicians they like for free''.
At the same time, touring acts such as Coldplay and Foo Fighters force photographers to assign copyright to the band, and the management of Harry Connick jnr refused Sharman the right to display his photos on his website portfolio.
Squeezed by the shrinking opportunities in the magazine and newspaper industries, many photographers are retreating to art photography and portraiture, where the craft appears more valued.
Stephen Dupont is one example, using a remarkable archival ..."

Nice work Richard, especially beating Stephen Dupont in the article!

Good news about the car, better to be written off than badly repaired.

Yes, I'm here :-)

Hey, if people want to over-pay for hardware, that's their issue :-)

Smart move to run W7 on it, though - means you can run decent software.

I'd love a BMW, a mid-90's-ish one, but I don't think I'll be getting one as my first car  Write off's fine, just gives you an opportunity to look for something even more useful and hip pocket friendly. I may have missed it before, but what was your car? I can see how it's a write off, it doesn't sound like much damage but to repair it would be hell.

Nice! How'd you score that? Did they contact you or did you raise the issue with them for awareness, along with the other bloke?
