Water damaged insurance claim goods!!... even the manufacturer would steer clear of warranty!

Checked out an up coming model shoot location I am planning. Watcha think? The height of the tunnel would be around 20 feet or so, the grafitti goes up around 7 foot high to give you an indication of the size.

Can you get cars down there safely? I'd bookmark it for my Sydney car shoots :D

No, Australian law is "Fitness for purchase"..........

So, If you buy a $2 window cleaner gadget from Cheap As Chips, there is an "Implied warranty" that the thing will work as advertised. However, if it breaks after 11 months of use, the overall consideration would be that you have got a good life from the product (unless of course it SPECIFICALLY said it had a 12 month warranty), however, if you purchased a $5,000 television and it failed after 13 months (with a 12 month warranty) that would NOT be considered proper.

However, for all of the ACCC laws, words and legal blah-blah, warranty issues are a CIVIL matter, so you cannot look to the ACCC for support when something does go wrong !!

Austen.

I've looked it up on the 'net and it seems it has nothing to do with the ACCC, it's state law under the Fair Trading Act 1999 and the Trade Practices Act 1974.

The interesting thing I found is this:

An express warranty does not cancel out and cannot limit the implied conditions in any way. The implied conditions apply regardless of the terms of the express warranty. For example, if the express warranty for a television lasted only a year and a fault developed soon after, a customer may still have a right under the implied conditions to claim some form of redress, since it is reasonable to expect a television to last longer than a year.

It's a good read ;)

The TPA (1974) is a Commonwealth law, overseen by the ACCC.......

You'd hope not too many people have their toilets connected to the storm water :) Nice location though.

Apparently the 1D Mark II is too old to be considered for CPS applications in Canada. This has happened because they changed the rules recently, I wonder if it'll be the same here? Quite stupid, in my opinion. The 1D Mark II has the same sensor has the 1D Mark IIN, so it really shouldn't be considered too old if the IIN isn't.

And in other news, I'm looking forward to seeing the promo posters with this image on them, given I shot it: http://www.littlebigshots.com.au/ (external link)

Story doesn't give their circumstances... they got relatively short sentences so there must be mitigating factors.

Yeah, she was a teenager... they were hungry, when asked to get some food for them she probably said something stupid like "Eat me!", so they did.
