Heya ozzies,

This is my first post on this forum btw, and i'm on the wrong thread already, since I'm not even australian....

but...I'm going on a 5-week campertrip along the eastcoast (from sydney to cairns-ish) and I'm hoping to capture some of australia's fantastic wildlife/nature (in my photo's ofcourse). I have already made a long list of all the National Parks I want to visit, but are there any places i really shouldn't miss photography-wise?

I highly recommend Broken River @ Eungella National Park, 80kms west of Mackay (Qld). Be there at Dawn or Dusk to see a real live wild Platypus (sometimes two or more).

e.g.

If you divert inland a bit, you're almost guaranteed to see kangaroos (also around dawn/dusk), pretty much the whole way up the coast (on the western side of the Great Dividing Range).

Crocodiles have been seen anywhere north of about Mackay, just don't get eaten by one while trying to photograph them ;-)a

sheesh you know what i mean :)

Crooked backtrop then

Yup, but I think the word 'horizon' is greatly overused and misused on this forum and it kinda bugs me :)

Also that people expect them to be straight when there is no particular reason to.

They are common enough in Rockhampton (300 odd km south of Mackay)

I thought you hated crooked horizons? :)

I do, but I prioritised a straight vertical next to the subject's head :-)

AdamC wrote in post #10135354 (external link)
Wow, looks nice for a pocketcam! No wonder you keep banging on about how good they are ;)

Yes, it's an awesome little thing, I love it. (Despite not being able to fit the 85L to it :-)

Anyone have a 17-40L they want to get rid of? :D :D

Starting to prepair my gear for when i go away to the kalahari, so far i have;

1DmkII
28-75mm
70-200mm
580exII

Looking to add a wide angle into that for the landscapes, any suggestions?

Maybe I should sell all my gear and buy an S90. I doubt my photos would suffer from the change.

Speaking of the s90. Apparently it's cleared processing here and the lazy bastard (dhl courier) has got it. And we have to go see the mother-in-law soon! I hope I don't get carded dammit. I want this thing for the weekend.

There was one on the gumtree for $750. Otherwise if you want new, I just bought mine from DWI it ended up costing about $870 or something I think. Was here within 3 days.

Ps. On your website, could you do me a massive favour and either put "Count" on the line above or add 1 (or) more words on the second line. Thanks. :)
