This has me a little confused...

QUOTED IMAGE

It could just be as simple as a late data upload from the Mascot office. I've noticed that sort of thing before on shipping. It's like the Sydney boys cache their scan data on the handheld units and don't upload until the end of shift.

Good point. Seems kinda weird given it's a tracking system, but makes more sense than what it's showing.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

My cactus triggers have died, I can't get any life outt've them =[I've tried replacing batteries and different channels but I can't seem to get anything to work. I'll have to order a new set as I've got the week off work and will hopefully be taking some shots of the girlfriend =[.

Also thinking about ordering a YN 460 as a second flash, anyone have any experience? (I'm hoping my old V4 receiver still works and it's just the transmitter that has died)

Could be the freight co have the details of the invoice, get the info to the broker in order organise fees/charges/taxes while the package is still in transit and speed things up.

I had a phonecall from TNT with regards to import costs a day or 2 before the package arrived in Vic.

Commercial packages have information sent ahead of the consignment. It is the job of the brokerage/clearance agency to process the paperwork so your package can be cleared through customs.

It's a formality but every item has a tariff classification that needs to be confirmed before it moves from each port. I'm surprised it's popped up for tracking details on a small consignment like ours.

I review $45,000 worth of parts every week for airfreights & $500k for seafreights every month but lucky I'm not the gal who processes and approves the dozens on dozens of docs that a single freight forwarder would receive.

I've got two YN460's and they've been quite good, but for a little more you can buy a lot of the newer ones. There's a YN560, which is as powerful as a 580EX II but has manual only controls, that is coming out soon for no more than US$75 apparently. Look on eBay for hkyongnuophotoequipment. Don't buy a YN flash from anywhere else.

The worst part is there's no system, and the low-balling is horrendous. Even with eBay fees you'd do better than at there.

Definitely. A mate had to sell his 2-3 month old Aus stock 17-55 with genuine hood for about $1000 (may have been $1100) because of lowballers and fools comparing so many different things. He was frustrated, but he was buying a Sigma 24-70 HSM for $950 so he just went with it and didn't bother trying to hold out for a higher price.

I uhmmed and ahhhed about the 190 instead of the 055 but decided to err on the side of caution.

Would love to hear more opinions about the choice between the two. I can't figure out for the life of me which to go for! Ideally via PM :D

Anyone know how to get decent service @ George's by the way? bought a 5D mkI only to find the focus screen has a massive smear across the bottom third of it, and they're not returning emails :(.

When in doubt call or go in and see them. Don't rely on emails, they are too easy to ignore.

055 has worked very well for me - I looked at the 190 and decided I needed the extra height and strength of the 055

Yeh, it wasn't great. In saying that, the ref had no choice, whether it was a handball or not, that was the decision he made, last line of defense + handball in the box = red card. It sucks, but he was in a bind that didn't go well for us. It just wasn't Kewell!!!
