Mensah's shot was heading into the net when the ball struck Kewell on the arm and television replays suggested there may have been a small, instinctual movement of the player's limb to the ball. Once the referee had awarded the penalty he had little option but to send Kewell off. cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

There's a YN560, which is as powerful as a 580EX II but has manual only controls, that is coming out soon for no more than US$75 apparently. Look on eBay for hkyongnuophotoequipment. Don't buy a YN flash from anywhere else. Thanks for that Moose, you had any experience with their triggers? I've been using Cactus 4's but with mine recently dieing I wouldn't mind trying something different. Was looking specifically at The RF-602 set. Luke,

There is no way on Earth Kewell made intentional contact. Black Shadow Photography

Thanks in advance Luke I've got their CTR-301P triggers, which have worked 100% since the day I got them (as have the YN460's) but I've never used the RF602's. My mate has RF602's with one YN460 and as far as I know, everything's been 100% all the same. blackshadow wrote in post #10390342 I've had a gutful. I'm boycotting pizza for a week. I'm not going to quote everything about the topic, but this one I will. The ref clearly did what every other ref did and panicked. They all do and it's just annoying now. There was no reason for the sending off. We played decently and Wilkshire, for the amazing game that he played, woulda/coulda/shoulda buried his chance.

We played decently and Wilkshire, for the amazing game that he played, woulda/coulda/shoulda buried his chance. I think it's still quite possible that we'll qualify. A Germany or Ghana win and a winning margin of 2 or more for us is all we need. Although if Ghana win, I think we can get away with a 1-0 win. We played well, and with 11 men and the intent that we showed, despite not shooting as much as we should have, we should get it. It doesn't matter how well we played, or were playing at the time. Any malicious tactic (Whether it's intentional or not) on the last line of defense (Ie. Kewell was standing on the baseline) is a red card offence.

We weren't hard done by at all, the ref had no choice. The ball hit basically smack in the middle of the cutoff of the sleeve, that's a valid reason to pull up a handball. +1. cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

The experts are generally saying it was a red-cardable offense - not all agree it should have been a red rather than a yellow, but they are mostly saying that it's not a WRONG call. The non-experts are sure we wuz robbed. That's just it though, the position of Kewell meant the ref couldn't give a yellow.
