My idiot of the week was an Australian.

On Thursday night I was shooting Lily Allen - there were approx 10 accredited photographers in the photo pit for 1st 2 songs only and then out. Some girl was shooting with a G11 and was constantly holding it up at arms length and getting her stupid arm and camera in other togs shots.

I ended up knocking her hand out of the way and giving her a short sharp ear bashing.

ugh, yeah noticed at bdo an 'accredited' photographer with a g10 with another one that had a 350d and kit lens... spent most of their time taking photos of each other. WTF... must really piss you guys off when fools show up act like fools.

Missed a couple of days, so I'm playing a bit of catch up.

@Andrew. Seeing those images, I totally grok the "sand fairies" term. Those guys play for keeps.
Mic, the Collingwood pub shot is just right. the bicycle and basket are the perfect focus. The background story needs the oof treatment. I love it.

On the topic of DACs, I can't recommend a brand, but if you can find a bitstream (external link) example, I'd run with them. Oh, and they scale.
Regarding the guy complaining about shooting 70mm at 1/20? Unless he's after atmosphere (didn't bother with the thread) there's this thing called a flash. Or should I post up a couple of my hand-held 600mm Siggy shots of the cricket?

Nothing wrong with either of those cameras if you know how to use them and know how to behave around other photographers.

Which BDO? Only 20 accredited shooters in Melbourne (and I think the same number in Sydney).

Cheers John. I've done enough cleaning today, didn't really feel like doing more! ;)

Yeup, I plan on buying about another 15-20 plants I think. Wish pots were cheaper though. :(
